Moose Jaw, SK – The Downtown Moose Jaw Association (DMJA) elected two new members at its 2023 Annual General Meeting.
Thursday, April 13, the DMJA’s 2023 AGM was held at The Hive Espresso Bar in downtown Moose Jaw.
Geoff Anderson, Board Chair, outlined the the DMJA’s five-year Strategic Plan, followed by Craig Hemingway, DMJA Marketing Director, reviewing results of the recent downtown business survey.
When it came time for the election of new members, a motion was made (and approved) to add an ex-officio position to the DMJA Board, to represent downtown non-profit businesses. Sarah Simison was nominated for the two-year term and was awarded the position via acclamation.
Additionally, Sunni Padfield (Owner, With These Hands) was elected by acclamation to fill the Board position vacated by Steve Tunison of Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw. There is one year remaining on that term.
Four members of the DMJA Board whose two-year terms had expired were also re-elected by acclamation at the meeting and will each serve another two-year term:
- Gabrielle Belanger
- Alex Carleton
- Kelly Carty
- John Iatridis
The rest of the DMJA Board is comprised of the following members, who each have one year remaining on their current terms:
- Geoff Anderson (Chair)
- Yvette Moore
- Michaela Turner
